FLARES

1. TWEED TURN UP - TOPSHOP   2. FLARE - TOPSHOP   3. WIDE LEG - ZARA  4. CIGARETTE - RIVER ISLAND   5. WIDE STRIPE - TOPSHOP

Now I’m sure we are all aware by the now the 70’s are back in a big way this season, but if like me you don’t quite have the long slim pins to pull of the loud print flares (so wish I could, but it just ain’t happening), I’ve put together some alternative options. Still bang on trend in a big way but without feeling so ermm loud. These trousers are also so easy to style too, simple white shirts, slogan T’s, heels and flats very versatile. Cant wait to channel my inner 70’s babe, minus the perm.

GUY BOURDIN - IMAGE MAKER - SOMERSET HOUSE

Recently I visited Somerset House to see the Guy Bourdin Exhibition, and as always Somerset House put on such a beautifully curated exhibit. Somerset House is such a beautiful space and I always know when I visit I wont be disappointed. Guy Bourdin is such an interesting character and had such a fulfilling career. After all these years the Bourdin estate has finally released a selection of work allowing the exhibition to take place. The exhibition takes you through his early work shooting for Charles Jourdan through to his later work as a more established Photographer working with French Vogue, advertising and developing layout. His work is very stylistic and very reminiscent of man ray bit with a more contemporary flare. Some of the ideas `Bourdin had and perused were so unusual and innovative for his time. If you get a chance I definitely recommend going. For me the best part of the exhibition is a selection of videos and sounds put together and display in the round, allowing you to feel completely immersed in his work and loose yourself.

STYLE CRUSH

So I’m sure most of you like me, upon seeing the trailer for the Theory of Everything thought ‘ I recognise her’, and you would be right, Felicity Jones has been in a few girly romcom’s as well as hard hitting emotional dramas through out the past few years but has never landed that ‘stand up and take notice’ role. Of course she was once the face of Burberry in 2011 which bought great success, but now as we prepare to watch the Theory of Everything Miss Jones has defiantly got the stand out moment she’s been waiting for, and as well as that she’s been making her self a well-known face in style pages through out the UK. There’s just something about her way of dressing, in a way its very similar to that of Emma Roberts, the way she puts together outfits, the cuts and silhouettes she chooses feels quite, British, and like a true Brit not afraid to try something new! So for this month she has to be my style crush already can’t wait watch her in action on the big screen. Felicity Jones is most defiantly someone to watch in 2015!
